Sharing readings, short films, landscape plans, blueprints,\u00a0and design briefs, we explore how these fields play a vital role in shaping a Palestine under occupation, but also how they have the potential to liberate our imaginations beyond circular arguments of conflict, security, and terror, towards a free, inclusive and just society for Palestinians going forward.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Danah Abdulla<\/strong>\u00a0is a designer, educator and\u00a0researcher interested in boundary-pushing\u00a0narratives and practices in design. She is a Reader in Anti\/Post\/Decolonial Histories, Theories, Praxesat the Decolonising the Arts Institute at University of the Arts, London. Her first book is\u00a0<em>Designerly Ways of Knowing: A Working Inventory of Things<\/em>\u00a0a Designer Should Know (Onomatopee, 2022). Her second,\u00a0<em>Design Otherwise: Transforming Design Education in the Arab\u00a0Region<\/em>\u00a0will be published by Bloomsbury in 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zena Agha<\/strong>\u00a0is a Palestinian-Iraqi writer, researcher,\u00a0poet and multi-disciplinary artist from London. Her\u00a0debut poetry collection\u00a0<em>Objects from April and May<\/em>\u00a0(Hajar Press, 2022), was a finalist for the James\u00a0Book Award, the Omnidawn First\/Second Book\u00a0Prize and the Philip Levine Poetry Prize. She is a\u00a0non-resident scholar at the Middle East Institute\u00a0in Washington D.C. and undertaking an ESRC-funded PhD at\u00a0Newcastle University exploring colonial cartography in Palestine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mahdi Sabbagh<\/strong>\u00a0is a writer, architect, and urbanist.\u00a0He is co-curator of PalFest, the Palestine Festival of\u00a0Literature and is published in the\u00a0<em>Journal of Public\u00a0Culture<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Jerusalem Quarterly<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Architecture of the\u00a0Territory<\/em>\u00a0(2022),\u00a0<em>Open Gaza<\/em>\u00a0(2021), the<em>\u00a0Funambulist<\/em><br \/>\nand\u00a0<em>PLATFORM<\/em>. He is the editor of\u00a0<em>New\u00a0Solidarities<\/em>, (PalFest\/ Haymarket Press, 2024) and\u00a0is the Matakyev Research Fellow at the Center for Imagination in\u00a0the Borderlands, Arizona State University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Larissa Sansour<\/strong>\u00a0was born in Jerusalem and\u00a0grew up in Bethlehem in Palestine. She works\u00a0with film, installation, photography and sculpture.\u00a0She often uses science fiction to explore myth,\u00a0memory, trauma, power structures and nation\u00a0states. Sansour was the shared recipient of the\u00a0Jarman Award (2020) and her work has screened\u00a0in Tate Modern, MoMA and Centre Pompidou. She represented\u00a0Denmark at the 58th Venice Biennale.
