This even features poets Isabel Galleymore and Victoria Kennefick who were reading from their PBS Spring Selection collections Baby Schema (Carcanet, 2024) and Egg/Shell (Carcanet, 2024) in conversation with Tara Bergin. The event was introduced by Alice Mullen.

Isabel Galleymore’s first collection Significant Other (Carcanet, 2019) won the John Pollard Foundation International Poetry Prize in 2020 and was shortlisted for the Forward Best First Collection Prize and Seamus Heaney First Collection Prize. She was the Walter Jackson Bate Fellow at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study in 2022–23, and lectures at the University of Birmingham.

Victoria Kennefick’s debut collection Eat or We Both Starve (Carcanet, 2021) won the Seamus Heaney First Collection Poetry Prize and the Dalkey Book Festival Emerging Writer of the Year Award and was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize, the Costa Poetry Book Award, and the Derek Walcott Prize for Poetry. She was the UCD/Arts Council of Ireland Writer-in-Residence 2023 and Poet-in-Residence at the Yeats Society Sligo 2022–2024.

Tara Bergin is a Senior Lecturer in Writing Poetry at Newcastle University.

Alice Mullen is Manager of the Poetry Book Society.
