The Magic Box
I will put in the box…
The gentlest wave made by the underwater god,
Stone from the oldest pyramid
And the biggest book in the world.
I will put in the box…
A giant with crystal clothes,
A diamond glistening from the deepest cave,
A baby tree just sprouting.
I will put in the box….
The 13th lost month and a purple moon.
A flying dog with wings,
A spotty tree with orange leaves.
My box is fashioned from the finest gold.
The clearest ice,
Silk ribbon.
Rubies sit on top of the lid
And jokes in corners,
Hinges made from shark’s teeth.
I shall live in my box
In the greenest countryside of France,
Then travel on to a peaceful beach
The colour of a daffodil.
